Spiritual Gifts

Christmas, the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We hope that every one had a safe and happy holiday. This is the time to be with family and friends, be thankful for what God has blessed us all with, and be prepared for the new year (2012) that is right around the corner. Reggie and I are really looking forward to 2012, we're able to reflect and grow on the preceding year and continue to make changes for the better. One major thing we will be doing for the better in 2012 is utilizing our spiritual gift of giving. We will give back in a lot of different ways next year and we hope others will assist us. It's really awesome to put a smile on a child's face, especially around the holidays. We decided about 8 weeks ago to do something for Christmas, we had no idea what we wanted to do, we just said "we should do something for Christmas", it was on from there. One thing about us, when we put our minds to something, it get's done, no matter what it is. So anyways, we linked up with Maxwell Brown, he is our dear friend and works for the Mayor's office and we made it happen. We've had many people ask us "Why Logan Elementary?" Well, Maxwell has a program there called "Professional Fridays" and I had a pleasure to speak with some of the kids one Friday afternoon. Overall, I'm happy to say that we had a lot of participation and a lot of donations, and for that we are extremely grateful.THANK YOU!!!!!!

"The Grind"

I can't really recall the word, or phrase I should say, "grinding" being used as explicitly as its used today pre the Clipse releasing their Pharrell produced single ...Either way its seems to be the most accurate way to describe putting that good work in. Last week we got to have a crash course in "The Grind' of album promotion and it was a very eye opening experience. Tyrese Gibson known best for his Grammy award winning voice, well actually at this point after having a nearly 2 billion dollar Box Office summer he's probably equally if not more known  for his acting, is releasing his first independent album "Open Invitation PRE ORDER HERE" on 11/1/11. I'll spare yall the details we have discussed in the importance of the release date , but what I will tell you is that Ive heard the album and its super dope...That's not the opinion of a friend, but an actual fan of good music. Anyway last week we did a whirlwind of album promo for his new album and I think I can honestly say that, that was the definition of the grind. The homie never stopped, we went hard all day(Pause) lol.The first day we did two TV shows and 3 radio spots and a litany of interviews made for blogs and shows and such. Considering Rese has no major label backing him any artist will tell you its  quite a feat to push a product without major marketing dollars and to do Lenny Cooke, Dj Clue, Dj Funkmaster Flex and a host of others means youre on your "grind". SHOUT OUT TO BIFF WARREN.... Keeping with our #Goodenergy theme just recently a book has been floating through the crew to read, "Do You" by Russel Simmons...I randomly threw that in because arguably one of the dopest things about "The Grind' was the pleasure of spending a couple days with the author of the book Chris Morrow. God is amazing...Admittedly I'm not the biggest reader, I'm working on that, but it would be considered irony that the author of the book we all just read which related so well to our new found "all positive all the time" lifestyle would be a part of this "grind" that we all seemed to be a part of for our own various reasons. It was almost like the Fellowship of the Ring minus the weird goblins and orks and short froto-esque individuals...Come to think of it it wasn't anything like the Fellowship of the Ring LOL. Anyway the second day of the media blitz was extra dope because we visited the offices of Essence magazine...Essence pretty much embodies the Black Female. Everywhere we looked strong beautiful black womenssssssss, working or on pictures or paintings....It was a great look. What was an even better look was previewing the album for the majority of the staff. Im pretty sure I wont forget that moment O_O!!!!!! Besides the same intense interview to interview schedule we had  like the previous day, we were graciously accompanied by Reverend Run of RUN DMC and "Runs House" fame.  Some things are invaluable...Remember that...
Everybody's "grind" is different but all is respected just as long as you're on it and you're not fake busy with it  lol. I wish we could say everyday for the PTM is as swamped as those few days were in NY with Rese, but soon enough...They say careful what you ask for but to be great you have to do what the greats do...WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!??!?!?!?!?!?

The Law of Doing You

Its been a while...Quite some time indeed...Ill be the first to admit that we, or maybe I should say I, have been "slackin on my mackin" in  regards to our blog. Life has been happening, everyday I am finding new things and learning more about myself and fully embracing the positivity of the journey of life. You see when we created our company we created from our hearts and our imagination. Things have changed since the inception and I think, due to the nature of the owners (myself and jack), will constantly be changing...But not in that weird "what they got going on now?" sense of change, but the kinda change that come with growth, and wisdom. I think I am going to write more, hopefully I do...For me its therapeutic, and although it may not be normal BUT the proverbial "It is what it is" pops into mind.

Anyway its a celebratory day my bro Jacky Wright has seen another year which is a wonderful thing. I think birthdays allow us the opportunity to evaluate just how blessed we are. I mean in reality, who wants to get older? In hindsight though, who wants to stick around forever? Everyday, but birthdays especially, should be a chance to really thank God for what has been done for us in our lives. To be able to look back over the year and use it as a litmus test for your life is a huge accomplishment in itself. We all may not be where we wanted, expected, or even assumed we would be...But the fact that we even have the opportunity to assess it, in itself speaks volumes about the greatness of our blessings. Whatever it is we want for ourselves we can have, and The 400 wants what we want...Its ours...You cant tell me nothing...PERIOD. Shout out to us, raise your glasses for a toast...I got my water in my hand now. We dont want it if its too easy!  See yall September 25th at Recess...Yall are us and we are yall #Candyland                                   -Reggie B-

C.I. aka Slate.......

We could start this story from a lot of different angles, but the net is Cornelius Ingram is family. He is a part of the PTM and soon enough, the rest of the world will see why....

'Slate' as is he called back in his hometown of the 'Thorne' better known as Hawthorne, Florida is the best athlete to ever come out of his town. He started playing varsity basketball in the 7th grade and scored well over 3k points, he is second all-time in the state of Florida in points scored...

He was a QB as well, one of the top 11 QB's (Elite 11) in the nation coming out of Hawthorne High School, being recruited by many of the top schools in the nation. He opted to go to school right down the road at the Univ. of Florida to play quarterback, he also decided to play basketball as a recruited walk-on.

Sooooooooo his freshman year he didn't get playing time on the football team but saw time for the basketball team, he was in the same class as Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer and Al Horford. Coming into his soph season in football, Tim Tebow comes to town.......You know how that went...Slate had to move to tight end....His increase in playing time on the football field made him decide to stop playing for the basketball team, the year he left, they won the NCAA National Championship, back-to-back, would have seemed like he missed out, but nahhhhhhhh!!!....In 2006 the Gators won the BCS national championship.....I say all this to say, C.I. is a winner, Hands Down!

As he's even told us, he should have declared for the NFL draft after his Jr. year as a Gator. He was projected to go in the first three rounds, but he opted to go back to school, play football one last season and get his degree. Unfortunately, C.I. tore his ACL and missed his entire senior season....But, the gators won the BCS title game again, 2 rings in 4 years, not too shabby....

Just to give you an idea of how much of a pro prospect C.I. was, he didn't play his senior season, but was still selected in the 5th round by the Philadelphia Eagles. He hit another bump in the road, his knee wasn't fully healed and he re-injured his knee in Eagles training camp in 2009 as well as 2010...

C.I. is the true testament of perseverance and continuing to have faith in God.....He has all of the tools and is destined for greatness. Once he proves he is healthy this coming season, he is going to make a lot of noise on and off the field......That is a guarantee......

I can talk about Slate for a long long time, but you'll all see soon enough........

Lake Shore, Robotic Minds, cause the grind takes time if you wanna shine

My apologies for such a late post, but hey, it's like that sometimes......Anyways........

Good Ole Chicago, this city is awesome, period! We came out here in January to support our guy, “Hit Man Hurns” bka Kendal Hurns CEO of Robotic Minds Clothing. Such good friends we are, we flew out to support him for his Birthday/RMC launch party at Lumen Lounge. The line is awesome, check out the website and pick up some fresh threads www.roboticmindsclothing.com. The fashion show was dope; the after party was pretty sweet too…We also had an opportunity to speak with Kendall about RMC....Check this out

The 400 PTM Presents: Robotic Minds Clothing... from The 400 P.T.M. on Vimeo.

The only thing about Chicago is the winter weather, and boy did we get hosed. 2 ft of snow, the day before we were supposed to roll out… I’ve never seen anything like it, it was like a movie. This is Lake Shore Drive after the storm hit……Yougetcho!!!!

So we had to play rescue team, shoveling and snow blowing, all types of BS for our dear Aunty Lisa, she’s awesome by the way. Great adults, generally produce great children, and she has two amazing kids, Gavin and Nigel Schilling, remember these names folks, these are special kids. Gavin is hooping in Germany at a basketball academy, and Nigel is a child prodigy, this fella has way too many talents, he can literally do it all….Just check out this video….SMH…..

Chicago was awesome, another successful trip…I can’t wait to go back.......

LA....PTM...The REAL All-Star Weekend Experience...

As I am thousands of feet in the air on my way to Gainesville, Florida, I have some time to reflect on All-Star weekend in LA…. Overall, the experience was great for Reggie and I. We were able to further build our brand and also meet/connect with some great people along the way…. I could honestly write pages and pages in regards to the weekend, but I will spare you, and also spare myself…. The theme for us was ’exclusive’. The way it worked out, we were in a lot of places/situations that others did not have access to. I don’t mean that in a braggart way, it’s just the way it shook down. The highlight of our stay in LA was being apart of the LRMR camp, aka “The Four Horseman” (LeBron, Rich, Maverick, and Randy). Oh the irony, The 400 PTM, The Four Horseman…fate? Ah you never know…To keep it short and sweet, Reggie B has known Maverick and LeBron for many years now and they always show love, these are some great guys.  Anyways, Lebron has created a cartoon titled “The Lebrons” and he held a private screening event was held at Siren Studios on Sunset, guest list included, Pat Riley, Drake, Mark Cuban and a host of other individuals.  As if that wasn’t enough, Saturday night, after going to the Dunk contest (that was rigged by the way!) we had the pleasure of attending 2 Kings event at CAA bka “The Death Star”. If you don’t know what or whom CAA is, you probably shouldn’t even be reading this and you can get a YOUGETCHO…This uber-private event had roughly 250 guests, hosted by Jay-Z and Lebron. This was an A-list event, those in attendance DWade, CBosh, Beyonce, Kanye, Floyd Mayweather, Ciara, Reggie Bush, Diddy, Steve Stoute, Mark Cuban, Amber Rose, Brandy, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo Dicaprio, Cam Newton, David Arquette, Uncle Wes, J Cole, Drake, Rihanna, just to name a few. That was the true definition of VIP party, everyone together in one room, no fish bowling, just everyone having a good time, open bar, Ciroc ALL NIGHT…. Funniest part was the next day when all I heard was “how was that party, how did you get in there?”  I can’t even front, its quite awesome that we were there amongst so much power, but hey we aspire to one day be one of those people that matter wink, wink…..

The final night was a great ending, The Conga Room with the big homey Tyrese. This guy is really an inspiration to us, as a mentor and big brother, he always looks out for us as much as he can.  He is going to make A LOT of noise in 2011, with his Book “How to get of your own way”. Two blockbuster movies coming you may have heard of, Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon and Fast and Furious 5, as well as an album “Open Invitation”. This will be his summer; BELIEVE THAT…Here is a little snippet from The Conga Room…

We didn’t take any pictures, didn’t really make any videos other than from the Congra Room, mental memories is all we have and they are priceless; this was definitely a trip to remember. There’s a lot of other things that occurred, some that I should mention but most that I don’t need to mention, the standard bopping, etc, but that doesn’t need to be addressed..Yougetcho…This is about things that matter…. Shout out to everyone we crossed paths with, if you were out there and we didn’t see you, oh well, I hope you all enjoyed your time in LaLa land, I know we sure did………

THEY ARE HERE!!!

While most people went bananas over the re-release of the Cool Grey Jordan XI, I quietly counted down the days until my personal favorite shoe of all time, which too is a Jordan re-release. I must digress and say I too got a pair of the Cool Grey Jordans, thanks in part to a last minute call from a trusted family member (Lacy from THEM) and a person  I would like to codename as *Bird*. Anyway on to what I would like to describe simply as "The best J's ever HANDS DOWN". The Cement Jordan III's  were re-released today and I got a pair, sadly only one pair. I still would like to get my hands on some more of them but only time will tell if that is more reality or inception. Im nowhere near as big a sneaker head as many of my friends are , but I can tell you this much, these shoes go hard!!!! I would like to thank *Bird* for playing a part in securing these puppies too. Next purchase for me will likely be Marvel Vs Capcom 3 for the PS3, yes Reggie B the nerd you are all too unfamiliar with is in full effect! Ciao
